Still having problems with TempoPad sending program change!

  • Hi.

I bought a TempoPad P16 a couple of weeks ago specifically to have the pads send MIDI program change (PG) messages.  At first, this worked fine but then, without any changes I can remember, it started sending two PGs every time I hit a pad; It would send the correct code I programmed in the Synido MIDI app on my Mac but then immediately send a PG 1!

I corresponded wtih your support and had some confusing messages but, again for some unknown reason, it started working correctly again!  I thought everything was fine but yesterday it went back to the inccorect behaviour of always sending the PG 1 after the configured PG.  It's doing it right now in front of me!

I tried File -> Retore Default and Send to Hardware and then configured PAD1 again to send PG 1 but still get the extra PG being sent.  This all makes the device useless for me.  Please help me fix this ASAP or I will have to return the unit to Amazon and search for another solution.

    Regards,

    David Rogoff

  • Hello David,

We apologize for the issue you're experiencing again.

PC signals are usually used to switch instrument tones. If you set their value in the control panel of the p16, the percussion pad will emit this value. For example, if you set the PAD1 button to PC8 and click send to hardware, then pressing PAD1 will only emit the PC8 signal, and there will be no "Momentary" or "Toggle" status when releasing your finger. PC signals do not have the "Momentary" or "Toggle" status. PC signals are instructions for program modification, and one instruction will execute one action. Only CC signals have the "Momentary" and "Toggle" status. This may be due to the display of your computer's MIDI monitor software. If you have other instructions on your end, PC signals are instructions for program modification. MIDI controller, you can use this software with other MIDI controllers to see if it works the same as P16.
